About Us

Ellissa Jane is the artist and baker behind Hello Clown.

With a background in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and training from the French Pastry School, Ellissa’s work blends playful design with refined technique. She’s worked in both art studios and Michelin-star kitchens, but it was during the pandemic that she found a new creative freedom in cake decorating—sharing her colorful creations online and connecting with people through joy and humor.

Previously the Head Pastry Chef at Allez Café in Chicago (where she became known for her miso chocolate chip cookies), she now runs Hello Clown full-time from her home studio, where she continues to explore the intersection of art and pastry.
